Some Basics About Us

• Who We Are
  

  We are just ordinary individual Canadians who passionately share a common and extraordinary vision for the future of our country.

  We are very concerned about the serious damages already caused to our economy, our sovereignty, our valued way of life, and the overall state of the world due to globalization.

  We do not accept the failed promise by government and trans-national corporations that by shifting from local economies to a globalized world market, the benefits would be shared by all. We know this to be untrue - the proof is all around us. We do not support ongoing efforts by big business and government to irreversably bind our resources and way of life through one-way trade deals.

  We value and stand behind our local Canadian business owners from the thousands of "mom & pop shops" to the many larger, shining examples of genuine Canadian innovation and enterprise. We understand and accept the higher cost of producing goods and offering services which are of quality and do not shamelessly compromise on issues of ethics and environment.

  We support Canadian workers from coast to coast to coast and we are tired of watching our hard earned dollars used to maintain outsourced sweat shops while our own workers struggle to make ends meet. We refuse to be seduced by cheap goods into a minimum wage society. We see inexpensive imported products for what they truly are - a false economy with a devastating global impact on resources and the environment.

  We refuse to be culturally pasturized and homogenized by faceless media conglomerates. We recognize that objective honest reporting of daily affairs, domestic and international, are vital to making informed choices. We oppose the sweeping and dangerous trend of media consolidation and the replacement of real news with corporate-driven infotainment.

  We believe in democracy and diplomacy over violent conflict - without exception. We do not support the endless waste of precious lives and resources to shore up the ultimate losing battle - war.

  We believe that a return to local economy is vital for the well being of most Canadians and the world. We welcome trade with other nations, but only when it benefits the majority - by population, and not by wealth.

  We are deeply troubled by the growing wreckless trend of dangerous imported products being distributed without the necessary checks and balances to protect consumers and their loved ones. We do not believe that more lives need to be lost for this issue to merit the priority it should have been assigned from the beginning.

  We are offended by the semantic labelling games played by importers to create the illusion of Canadian product origin. "Made In Canada" does not mean what most think it does, and that is why we believe "REALLY Made In Canada" is essential!

• What We Do
  

  We collect, research, investigate, and publish information to help conscientious Canadian consumers and businesses succeed in our return to local economy. This website is an ongoing compilation of every business and organization in Canada - unlike any other!

  While at first glance, our Local Canadian Business Directories may seem like just another list of names and addresses, that is just the surface of this project. As we further our interactions and research of those listed, additional pertinent information is added to each of the listings.

  Our "REALLY Made In Canada" definitions of terms related to Canadian ownership, labour, product origins, ingredients, and environmental impact are far less lenient that those currently enjoyed by labelling semantic tricksters.

  By providing you with as much objective detail about businesses and organizations operating in your community, you can subjectively decide on where to invest your hard earned dollars. We don't take it upon ourselves to tell you "how Canadian" your choices must be - that is your decision and your right. Our efforts are oriented to helping you make better informed choices.

  We engage in, and facillitate serious discussion surrounding the issues as they relate to a healthy local Canadian economy, society, and world. Regardless of view point, all constructive comments are welcomed as we rummage through, often controversial, and paradoxical issues.

  We help local Canadian enterprises and organizations by extending our diverse technical skills and experience at very affordable rates (if any). We also believe in the synergystic power of networking and are always happy to introduce kindred spirits to one another.

  By keeping politicians' feet to the fire, we stand a better chance of (finally) getting some value from our tax contributions. As REALLY Made In Canada is an independent third party project, we do not owe anyone anything! And, as such, our approach can, and is, far more brazen than the delicate tip toe ballets of typical government or corporate sponsored endeavours.

  This project is devoted to, and solely subordinate to, the well being of Canadians and their quality of life. We believe that a democratic majority is measured by the numbers of individuals - not by the aggregate wealth of a few.
