Stephen Harper (Right Hon.) citizen Reviews & Ratings:

Wendy H in Trenton, Ontario writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.).

Stephen Harper is single-handedly destroying my Canada. I love this country but he is turning it into a place that I recognize less every day.

Why are we allowing this dictatorship in a country that was strong and free, that was open and socially fair, that was kind and peace-loving? Please 60%! Let us unite and stop this tyrant before the damage is irreparable.

Len W in Bowser, British Columbia writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.).

Stephen Harper should be removed from Ottawa forthwith. There are absolutely NO constructive terms to describe what Harper has and is doing to the once soverign nation of Canada.

I still cannot understand how 60% of voters voted AGAINST HIM and he is not the so called leader of the country. Something needs to change with our political system.

This is not democracy.

Harper is a tyrant, proving it by ramming his agenda through parliament in a flash. Stopping discussion from the opposition is what a fascist dictator would do.

The people who voted him in are fools. What this country needs is an honest Prime Minister who listens to the words and arguments of the elected MPs.

Harper's ears are plugged up with his absolute arrogance. God is dead. The proof is what is happening in this country today at the hands and thoughts of Harper.

Oil Energy is Crude writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). Mr. Harper, you should cool your jets before rushing into lacing toxic tar sands oil pipelines across our Canadian landscape. The latest ExxonMobil pipeline spill of 42,000 gallons (I figure you probably understand American better than Canadian) into the Yellowstone River (Montana) should be proof enough that with "state-of-the-art" pipeline technology, your oil giant buddies cannot be trusted with the safety of our environment and economies. You seem to be more interested in encouraging known environmental offenders rather than protecting Canadians and their economy. We know that you and president Barack Obama want to build a pipeline (known as Keystone XL) all the way from Alberta, down to Texas. With whose money do you intend to do so? And how can you keep spending from your deficit budgets on projects which support outdated obsolete fossil fuel energy while letting the rest of Canada suffer in economic Depression? ExxonMobil is a known environmental offender. BP is a known environmental offender. The oil industry operates much in the way the tobacco industry did - before they were finally exposed and called out for what they were. The world has been and will continue to watch your national embarrassment called the "tar sands". Canada has already suffered financially and in respectability in the world's eyes thanks to your (Mr. Harper's) policies on the environment and your reluctance to let go of the disastrous tar sands. Given your record of behaviour in parliament as a minority leader, I doubt I will see much change for the better now, but at least your actions are being watched on a larger scale. I suspect you have been relying on your global trade partner "leaders" to provide you with the peer support to enable your agenda. But as you know, G20 countries are losing their grip of global government corporatism over their people right now. I'm sure you will continue your policies of promoting the welfare of oil giants, sending most of our oil to the United States rather than saving it for our own needs and survival, but at least I can be comforted in knowing that there are humans out there (many and growing in numbers) who have been watching your policies and raising alarms on an international level. It's a shame that Canadians have to rely on international courts to keep their own politicians in check.

48,000 Canadian Workers DENIED Collective Bargaining! writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). RE: Stephen Harper's conservative government siding with management, by introducing anti-union legislation, effectively denying 48,000 Canadian workers' their basic democratic right to free collective bargaining... This does not come as any surprise, especially with Harper's majority "mandate fantasy". Stephen Harper and his conservative government is pro-global-corporate and, as many of us know, Corporate America and Corporate Canada just don't like the idea of their workers having access to bargaining tools - especially if it threatens the bottom line. This is just one more vivid example of Harper's sovereignty - to big business. Workers and local Canadian economy seem to take a second seat to this majorly unpopular PM (60% of Canadian voters in May/2011 election AGAINST Harper). Conservatives love to bust unions and when the unions are too "entrenched" then draconian legislation is the next best thing. We've seen what's happened to "made in Canada" on Harper's watch. It's official – Harper's Canada has "gone global", and (any remaining) local jobs, especially half decent paying jobs must not conflict with the lowering standards of the third worlds Canadian workers are forced to compete with. I guess retired Canadians (many of whom voted for Harper) don't really care so much about workers issues, but I think they should! If they voted Harper to protect their nest eggs, they should have exercised more due diligence. Unfair workplace conditions are EVERYONE'S problems!

Harper's $50 Million Spending Secrets Are Patronage In My Books! writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). How is Stephen Harper's spending of our tax dollars in the tens of millions of dollars, and with virtually no paperwork/audit trail, not patronage? Even the Auditor General has officially declared that Stephen Harper's Conservatives withheld pertinent details about a $50 million dollar G8 fund! Stephen Harper's record of running "his" secret opaque state government in Ottawa is consistent and of grave concern to this hard working Canadian taxpayer. I never believed any of his rhetoric about "restoring ethics and transparency" to the "new" (Stephen Harper) Government of Canada. Harper is a hardball political player and his actions do not suggest to me that his priorities are my priorities. Canadians on all sides of the political spectrum should pay attention to the growing Harper WATCH!™ and Stop Harper NOW!™ movements - they reflect the true sentiment of many Canadians. After all, the majority of Canadian voters voted against Stephen Harper in the last election [2011]. It's bad enough that Stephen Harper's domestic and foreign policies are too scary close to those of his now-defeated ideological buddy, George W Bush. And now, even our own election results smell of a familiar unpleasant reality. While it must be stipulated that Stephen Harper "won" fair and square (according to the present rules of Elections Canada and the Canadian Parliamentary "system"), but the results just don't track with the overwhelming opposition Harper has. I doubt that Stephen Harper is careless enough to get caught with any legally actionable offences under his watch, but who knows. If the conservatives are handing out riding-targeted "infrastructure" funds to secret projects, maybe there are some prospective whistle blowers who care enough about Canada to speak up. Otherwise to stop harper now may be extremely difficult - and king Steve knows it!

"Potentially Illegal" is Definitely Unethical writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). So what's $50 million tax dollars virtually "gifted under the table" - we're all Canadians aren't we? We know how important is is to ensure that squeaky wheels get greased. After all, if Canadians were told in detail how every dollar of their taxes was spent, they would not have any time left to watch American hockey players push a puck around the ice in Canada's longest (foreign-owned) beer and cell phone commercial - the NHL. Harper, as many politicians before him, and as I'm sure, many after him will, decreed bold words (sneaking glances to the sides to ensure that historians where documenting his "new" government visions and spelling his name correctly), but the facts are in - they have been in for many years now - Stephen Harper's idea and implementation of ethics and transparency are severely deficient in substance. The AG of Canada officially stated that Harper's Conservatives "sprayed money" on "dubious projects" in a particular cabinet minister's riding - fifty million loonies to be exact! And paperwork detailing the expense of public funds - what paperwork? The Auditor General's report clearly criticized (although not as sternly as in the first draft ("misinformed" was changed to "not informed")- wonder who was behind the toning down?) Stephen Harper's government's unprecedented lack of documentation. From a legal standpoint, it may take more this to start passing around charges and convictions, but as a taxpayer who rolled his eyes when Steve promised to bring ethics and transparency to Canadian government, I don't need any more to know that I was right in not trusting Stephen Harper in the first place. I've added every Stephen Harper watch website to my bookmarks, and I am ready to exercise my civic duty to learn how and to stop Harper NOW! Four more years of THIS? No way!

I Miss Sheila Fraser writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). They say you can tell the character of a man (or woman) by their enemies. I'm not talking about Stephen Harper. I'm talking about former auditor general Sheila Fraser. Just read her reports, and now those of the interim auditor general, John Baird. The reports are virtual indictments (without quite enough legal proof) to cast suspicious light on the methods and practices of a conservative government which prefers to maneuver in the dark. Compared to the billions of dollars wasted on manufacturing more terrorists in the world (aka Stephen Harper's war against the people of Afghanistan), a measly $50 million dollars passed under the table (by AG standards) may seem like a drop in the bucket. Well, it's not. $50 million dollars spent secretly by Mr. "I promise you an ethical government" Stephen Harper now has more that just the Harper watch groups on red alert - Canadians are beginning to notice. In fact, enough noticed Harper's modus operandi before the May, 2011 federal election and voted accordingly - 60%, the majority of Canadians who voted, voted against Stephen Harper. His winning a majority government in light of majority opposition (by population) has rubbed too many Canadians the wrong way. You can be assured that citizen think tanks are mulling over all the legal options available to Canadians to stop Harper now. If he keeps spending our money without public accountability, how can we know that his policies and actions don't put cross hairs on our own country. Stop the wars, stop the torture, stop the secret spending, and above all, stop Stephen Harper NOW!

"Infrastructure" Equals "Miscellaneous" From An Audit Standard writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). Anyone who has "enjoyed" the privilege of sitting eyeball to eyeball with Canada's greatest panhandlers of all, the tax auditors, knows how They feel about accounts classified as "Miscellaneous". So how is it that the same government which unleashes these insatiable thugs (by practice) on the people who actually make Canada work, get to use "Miscellaneous" in there accounting - in this case "Infrastructure" is the obfuscating term. "Infrastructure projects" is a term many Canadians have heard time and time again, whenever the government wants to impart virtual (but certainly not virtuous) "bribes" on various ridings without actually upsetting their policy agenda (by promoting an actual issue-based project), and without having to disclose too many details. I'm sure most people, as do I, assume that there will be shovels, work gloves, and some backhoes involved, but what do we really know about these "infrastructure" projects? If we're talking about building roads and highways, are these the same roads and highways that are worn out the most by transnational shippers delivering their goods from China? There has been lots of talk about trans-Canada-America highways strictly for the purpose of serving global trade multinationals. Why should Canadians have to fund the infrastructure which is most used and damaged the most by big business (making obscene profits) - they should pay - with tolls and shipping surcharges (or just reprice "Made in China" to equal what "Made in Canada" is/was and then see who wins). The latest Stephen Harper Conservative government scandal about the $83 million dollars vaguely tagged for "infrastructure projects" raises an added issue and reason to stop Harper now. "Infrastructure projects", especially related to the Canada-US border / G-whatever / anti-"Made in Canada" must be examined more closely. It's bad enough that Stephen Harper's pro-"Made in China" "enlightened sovereignty" idea of Canada is killing local Canadian economy and sovereignty, but making US pay for the roads and highways which are being used to ship our jobs out of the country is just too much. Whether you voted for Stephen Harper in the last election or not, add at least one Harper watch link to your bookmarks and PAY ATTENTION - this is just the beginning (of the end?).

Left Out Again in Canada writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). Regarding Stephen Harper pushing forward his agenda to lock down the Canada/US border, US Patriot Act style, I'm not surprised that our prince of proroguing is doing his best to keep Canadian out of the loop (one week comment period), but that does not make this Canadian sovereignty/trade issue any less critical. It's clear that Steve wants Barack to be his friend, now that his buddy George W Bush is gone, but making concessions with a US President whose record seems to remain on track with George W Bush's foreign and trade policies is no way to do it! To argue this issue from a "democratic" perspective is moot. The majority of Canadians (60%) voted against Stephen Harper in the last election. This issue is more about, how on earth, or at least in Canada, are Canadians who actually care about civil rights, privacy, democracy, local economy, and conscientious technologies to deal with a PM who now holds the keys to our public purse and seems to be bold enough to drag us deep down into his conservative nightmare? It looks like the best we can do at the moment is to sit way out on the bleachers, watch Stephen Harper play his North American Union game, and keep score. Hopefully, if he keeps fouling as obviously as he is in this case by virtually locking Canadians out of discussion on the Canada-US border, enough of these blunders might be enough to initiate nation-wide recalls. We don't have to wait four years. If any Canadian's who voted for Harper are feeling buyer's remorse, hang on to that feeling - it's a sound one and founded in good reason. Pay close attention to this conservative PM and take notes if necessary. Keep asking yourself "am I ok with letting this happen in my Canada for another four years?".

Why I Won't Vote for Stephen Harper writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). Usually, choosing to pass on a politician may involve considering an aggregate of many small issues, but in the case of (hopefully, soon to be former) PM Stephen Harper, virtually every basic tenant of his record is seriously short of the satisfactory and seriously deficient in leadership. I don't know if it's just because the other choices may seem equally dismal, or whether the political games Mr. Harper has played during his reign, but there does not seem to be a clear cut smart future in the way of Canadian leaders. Harper's abismal record speaks for itself - shutting down / proroguing parliament whenever this got too hot for him; totally controlling critical media coverage of his choices as PM; continuing to spend tax dollars we don't have on wars we don't need to be fighting; getting Canada booted for the first time in history off the UN Security Council; making Canadian "environmental policy" the well documented joke of the planet - just to name a few. And that's more than enough for me. The Liberals have proven that they are well versed in chronyism and patronage enough that Iggy is not going to be my picky niether. It's too bad that people of the right of centre mindset atre too scared of the NDP or Greens - these parties have not yet even had the chance to mess things up. I think they should have a go at running the country - can things REALLY get any worse overall than they have over the decades of Conservative/Liberal political "leadership"?

Under Seige in Courtenay, B.C. writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). It WAS a beautiful quiet spring morning here in Courtenay, on Vancouver Island, until just a few minutes ago when a cluster of booming military jet fighters buzzed my neighbourhood. My livestock is still running in panic and I wonder if anyone has even told Stephen Harper that Canada under his leadership is BROKE! With gasoline at almost a buck thirty per litre, we cannot afford to waste our fuel on macho boys in their war toys ripping up the neighbourhood. I'm sure that being critical of the "snowbirds" and other Canadian war machinery showmanship is unpopular among those who feel that there really are no better ways to apply our tax dollars, but I'm not one of those kind of "patriots". As far as I'm concerned, Canadian patriotism is best demonstrated through civic sensibility and responsibility - domestically and internationally. It's one thing to run our economy into the RED after promising non-deficit spending, but to then splurge money we do not even have (the way Stephen Harper's war department has) on jet play exercises which are mostly for show is WRECKLESS FISCAL IRRESPONSIBILITY! There are FLIGHT SIMULATORS. Oh wait... I have to pause my note... I cannot hear myself thinking - here they come blasting AGAIN! This is ridiculous! Are we under siege in Courtenay? If this is even remotely about training Canadian air warriors, they should be using flight simulators. The cost of fuel for play time is not justified even IF Canada were running its government in surplus. George W Bush ran "his" US economy into the ground with his military indulgences and it seems to me that Stephen Harper's modis operandi is far too identical for comfort! I can't wait until the next election. I can only pray that other Canadians have seen enough of Mr. Harper's "vision" of Canada to finally give him his pink slip.

Media Fraidy Cats Don't Impress Me writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). The sign of a great leader is being able to face the unexpected full on. This is a trait which Stephen Harper clearly DOES NOT HAVE! His campaign rule limiting reporters to five (safe) questions per day is just the latest in a series of demonstrations of his POLITICAL COWARDICE! We have a major Federal Election on its way and with Canada dragged into (American) wars around the world, we need ANSWERS and CLEAR POSITIONS. Instead of facing reporters and addressing the many unresolved concerns of Canadians, Mr. Harper seems to prefer to limit his risk of being caught saying the (politically) wrong thing by shying away from the scrum. This is a technique most lawyers use - don't say ANYTHING, unless absolutely compelled to and only when there is a safe, well considered response. Well, Mr. Harper, Canadians expect their Prime Minister to have much more backbone that that! Canada is not an abstract political science toy! Canada is a country with REAL PEOPLE and REAL ISSUES in REAL TIME. If Stephen Harper has to hide behind his press restrictions (he's been doing this from day one), he should just relinquish his post to a real LEADER who has the courage and conviction to face Canadians and CRITICAL MEDIA without shaking in his boots. Mr. Harper (aka Prime Minister "Cut and Run"), from your proroguing Parliament to defining criticism out of your reality - your record is crystal clear to this Canadian VOTER! I sincerely hope I'm not a minority in this view.

MY Canada is NOT America writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). Regarding the political record of Stephen Bush, um I mean, George W Harper. Oh I just have trouble telling the two apart. I remember now. One has a silly perma-smirk and the other hides from the press and shuts down government whenever things don't go his way. If this were fiction, it would be hilarious, but the sad reality is that THIS IS REALITY! Stephen Harper is facing a federal election and even though his record of broken promises and American military style economic globalism is clear to those who have been paying attention, I hope that other Canadians (the ones who still remember and prefer "Made in Canada") will take the time to review Stephen Harper's poor track record as Prime Minister of Canada. Or, have things gotten so bad under his conservative leadership that token budgetary earmarks and scare tactics will be enough to buy the votes for another kick at Americanizing the Canadian can?

The US Has Already Figured It Out writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). The striking similarity in policies and practices of Stephen Harper and George W. Bush are not lost on most of the "thinking" population in Canada and abroad, and yet, while our American cousins have already figured out what kind of devastation ultra-Conservative policies lead to, we just sit back and let Harper grind the Canadian economy and OUR international reputation into the ground. When I was younger, I was taught to learn from the mistakes of others, rather than having to (shamefully) repeat them myself. To me, it was crystal clear that Stephen Harper and George W. Bush (let's toss in British "conservative" Tony Blair) were cut from the same cloth. It reminds me of the old laundry detergent commercial where one person comments on how they can't tell the difference between one brand or the other. Even before Stephen Harper became Prime Minister of Canada (not by my choice) he trekked down to visit his ideological soul-mate George Dubya to discuss... Who knows WHAT!? His attempts at ramming through the Security Prosperity Partnership (SPP) may have failed at one level, but it reveals a scary agenda. My deepest concern and regret is that so many Canadians (even conservatives) ARE FINALLY able to see the darkness and disaster of the methods of George W. Bush, but they don't grasp the mirror image that Stephen Harper is STILL PRACTISING here in our own country. There's blind faith, and then there's BLIND FAITH!

Why Do I Have to Pay For ILLEGAL Wars writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). Let's be clear about this - Stephen Harper's wars are ALL of George W. Bush's wars PLUS ALL of Barrack Obama's wars. This includes the war against and occupation of Afghanistan, the illegal war and occupation of Iraq, and the (not-so)"secret" war on Pakastan where US drone attacks have been killing civillians for years. Considering where the PM "gets" his money (with the help of CRA) to ante up into the US military machine, this makes each and every Canadian taxpayer materially complicit in ALL these wars - legal, illegal, and otherwise - including accountability (moral, if not legal) for the casualties, deaths, homelessness, suffering, and attrocities inflicted upon thousands of INNOCENT men, women, children, and the elderly. For the most part, these wars are being fought in people's back yards and on the main streets of their communities - not in some isolated "combatant"-only zones! A portion of Canadian military spending is eventually disclosed and revealed to the public (usually quite delayed and lacking in granularity). Even so, the recorded public history is clear - BILLIONS UPON BILLIONS of Canadian tax dollars have been, and continue to be, handed over DIRECTLY to various 'divisions' of the US military complex. To think that our involvement, legally, and morally can be limited just to 'helping Afghans' is utter nonsense. Stephen Harper, and his predacessor (the "other guy", whose Sponsorship Scandal left us with Stephen Harper) are responsible for putting Canadian public funds into the hands of the US Military - this makes us complicit for whatever the US military is involved in - including illegal wars AND ADMITTED TORTURE! For those still naively parroting "Support Our Troops" while ignoring the fact that they are actually financially aiding and supporting the US Military, when are you going to wake up and realize that you have probably been doing more harm than good, while patting yourselves on the back for being such good decent Canadians?

Praying Hard on Vancouver Island, B.C. writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). A good politician does not let a crisis go unexploited - or so seems to be the modis operandi of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. By first radically stripping the social safety net built over decades by Canadian taxpayers to protect those who work, those who are/become infirm, and those who have entered the realm of poverty/despair (not necessarily of their own doing/control), Stephen Harper was able to APPEAR to keep his promises of not running the government in the red. But, given how smart/educated he is, I can't imagine that he did not see the unavoidable economic crash that he and his predacessors (conservative and faux liberal) set in the path of Canadians. Rather than PUBLICLY anticipating and forecasting the Wall Street / Bay Street meltdown (while others critical of corporate welfare systems and deregulatory trends have been warning of this FOR YEARS), he pushed his outsource Canada global trade agenda (including his now failed Security Prosperity Partnership SPP). By holding back the truth of these inevitable economic realities, it seems that Mr. Harper was able to "win" enough support for his elections. And when the "recession/depression" hit officially (corporate media was finally allowed to report it as such), he could then blame "unpredictable global events" for the downturn in Canadian economic health, slip his budget into the red (unprecedented DEFICIT spending), all the while passing the (bailout) bucks to big business pals of the government - those fiscal gamblers who created this mess in the first place! This may have worked favourably for Harper's support, SO FAR, but everything has its limits. And now, thank God, it's not uncommon to hear even nice conservative, family-valued Canadians talking about a change of heart towards their suppport of this man. Maybe there IS hope after all!

WORKING Class Canadian writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). I was wondering what Stephen Harper would do when his ideological soulmate George W. Bush was bumped out of the picture, but given Obama's track record of "getting along" with both sides of the isle, it looks like the global trade agenda continues unhampered. Harper's willingness to trade in a legacy of high quality Canadian manufactured goods for cheap Made in China landfill is an abomination and disgrace the the many thousands (if not more) hard working, honest Canadians who have lost their livelihoods and are left with having to endure a decimated standard of living, not to mention, suffer the indignities of wearing coloured aprons as their new "uniforms". Stephen Harper may be extremely well "educated", and experienced in the "game" of politics, but as a steward of MY country, and representative of the MAJORITY of working class Canadians, he does not even come close to demonstrating an "enlightened" agenda. As far as this Canadian taxpayer is concerned, he can take take his "enlightened sovereignty" globalist ideas right back to China!

Canadian Democracy is NOT a Game writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). Many of us know how well "schooled" Mr. Harper is in the ways of politics, but playing hard ball with MY Canadian democracy as though it were some sort of theoretical game, is completely unacceptable and reflective of a dilusionary, rather than visionary "leader". Some of us (tax paying, hard working Canadians) were raised to behave socially within a self-managed sense of decency. No one needs to tell us what is "too far" in respectable social behaviour. But Stephen Harper's Machiavellian style of secretive, moody, micromanaging control is typical of hardball game players. Lawyers do it, and extreme (usually right of centre) politicians do it. What would otherwise roll "normal people's" eyes, are just routine attempts to push the envelope into the absurd and see if they can get away with it. Harper's incredible attempts to control Canadian press are much akin to George W. Bush's US attempts to squelch even the mere filming (by civillians) of police officials in action (fortunately a failed New York law). I suppose, as long as Stephen Harper's conservatives can keep terrifying the elderly with spectres of lurking criminals (sporting publicly funded tattoos), and keeping the hearts of gun owners warm, this problem will not likely go away.

Canadian TAXPAYER and VOTER writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). Support our troops, FIRE Stephen Harper! When even Members of Parliament are stating publicly that "Stephen Harper has a disdain for democracy", it clear that this rogue Prime Minister should have his proroguing priviledges withdrawn. Canadians across the nation have stood up in solidarity to protest the SECOND suspending of Parliament by Stephen Harper. The last thing our troops need is a Machiavellian commander and chief who CUTS AND RUNS every time his political agenda is threatened! Our troops deserve much better than that!

Embarrassed Canadian writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). Once again, the willful ignorance of Stephen Harper and his conservative party brings shame and embarrassment to the people of Canada! Canada should be a be a respected leader in environmental policies - not the laughing stock of the global community. It's hard to imagine what kind of a person would actually vote for the conservatives and enable the likes of this global-trade obsessed Prime Minister. What motivates a man, especially one who has been chosen to LEAD (by God knows whom, literally I guess), to make virtually every bad choice on every important issue. I wonder how conservative groupies are going to spin this latest (global environmental conference) fiasco away. Is the whole world wrong now? What's the hold-up here? Has sensibility left the house? Are Canadians so unwilling to stand for what it right and what (at least used to) represent our values as a good citizen of the planet? If anyone really thinks Stephen Harper can suddenly become the leader he has so rigorously proven he is not, then perhaps we deserve the mess we're in! And don't hold your breath for Ignatieff - his taste for war and globalism has been adequately revealed as well!

War Crime Watch in Canada writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). It's official - the United Nations (UN) HAS found that Israel committed war crimes and even possibly crimes against humanity during its assault and massacre of Palestinian civilians in Gaza (2009). While Israeli soldiers were intentionally killing civilians and demolishing vital Palestinian civillian infrastructure, the Stephen Harper conservative government willfully and arrogantly IGNORED the loud concerted demands of outraged Canadians from across the country to condemn these attrocities. Instead, Stephen Harper's conservatives, flanked by the Liberals, chanted "Israel has a clear right to defend itself against the continued rocket attacks by Palestinian militant groups which have deliberately targeted civilians" - a position which was completely void of any true perspective of fact or proportion. While the UN technically, found both sides, Israrl and Palestine, guilty of war crimes, 90% of the UN fact finding report focuses on Israel's crimes as they outweigh any Palestinian caused deaths on a ratio of 100 to 1! Stephen Harper's support for Israel and his willingness to overlook these crimes AS THEY OCCURRED, while his constituency, the people of Canada, demanded otherwise, is a serious problem on many levels. Once again, just as he has embarrased so many Canadians by walking away from critical Canadian commitments like the Kyoto accord, Stephen Harper has demonstrated that his policy of "leadership" does not necessarily involve the aspirations of large segments of Canadians, nor concern itself with world public opinion of Canada, and the consequences HIS choices may bring to our nation!

Concerned Canadian Taxpaying Citizen writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). What is it with Harper's obsession to bind Canada to bad trade deals with countries holding terrible records on humans rights, labour relations, and environmental policies? With all his "Made in Canada love" rhetoric, it is impossible to ignore the disconnect between his words and his ACTUAL record. As if NAFTA, and getting us entrenched in Afghanistan, a US manufactured occupation/war, was not bad enough for Canadians (domestically, and internationally), now Harper is trying to fast track a free trade agreement with Colombia! This is getting ridiculous, but the stakes are far too high to simply muse over this. Bill C-23 is the legislation which would implement this insane trade deal between Canada and Columbia, and the government seems to be counting on Ignatieff's ("liberal") gang to help this go through. Is Stephen Harper trying to "one-up" his former ideological counterpart, George W. Bush, in depreciating, if not decimating, the standing of Canada in the eyes of the world? ANY deal with Columbia, a country that has the worst human rights record in the Americas, according to virtually every reputable human rights organization on the planet, will soil what remains of Canada's reputation as a civil democratic nation, not to mention, put a few more nails in the coffin of our "local domestic economy". Anyone with any sense of decency, understands this, and is doing whatever they can to avoid this mistake of a deal, but the "conservatives" plus the "liberals" seem to be the "one plus 50%" on this matter. The only good thing which may come of this deal passing, is that it will be clear to Canadians, just as Americans are starting to realize about Obama, that Canada, just as America, is a duopoly (conservative/liberal) which in fact represents only a singular view. If Ignatieff's Liberals let Bill C-23 pass, that will put them in the same (globalist, at any cost) basket as Harper's Conservatives.

I DEMAND CRITICAL Media Coverage of This PM writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). When "Canadian" Prime Minister Stephen Harper explained that His choosing to require Ottawa press gallery reporters to submit their names on a list to be "considered" for being permitted to question the PM, was to bring some order to what is otherwise a typically chaotic practice, I thought I had heard it all. When you deprive the public, your constituency, of the information they are ENTITLED to as part of the democratic process we all talk about being so proud of (and seem to be willing to devastate the lives of so many Afghan civillians over), there will only be an escalation of that demand. By suggesting that a truth/fact-starved ingenuous press clammering for even scraps of information need to be managed into "orderly behaviour" is the kind of black humour one comes to expect from right of centre Canadian governments, following their American counterparts to the letter. Chaotic? How about the parliamentary MP frat party that goes on each question period? Give me a break! - or at least a new government!

Concerned About Government Media CENSORSHIP in Canada writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). When Stephen Harper complained that the Ottawa press gallery was biased against him and declared that he would speak primarily to media of his own choosing that should have been (yet another) clear example of how this "Canadian" Prime Minister was following the George W. Bush's guidebook on how to run an opaque right-wing government without upsetting the "nice people" who elected him. If you switch "the channel" to REAL, INFORMATIVE, non-EMBEDDED media, Stephen Harper's record of attempting to avoid any valid critical discussion/disclosure of his conservative government's agenda, actions and COSTLY CONSEQUENCES is clear. He tried to ban cameras from covering the return of dead Canadian soldiers from Afghanistan (much in the way the US did). Availability of cabinet ministers and spokespeople to critical media has been shamefully scarce. Harper seems to advocate and practice a policy of "I'll talk to whom I choose in the media". So much for balanced, objective coverage of the conservative bandwagon!

Tough Questions Are GOOD writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). Someone has to stand up for the rights of Canadians, and given this Prime Minister's attitude to the press, we need tougher in-depth coverage of this secretive PM and his "new" conservative government. Somehow, and historically this is not limited to conservatives, reigning "leaders" consider a critical press to be counterproductive to their government agenda. Maybe so, but putting your boot at the back of the necks of hard hitting journalists shuts down, if not BREAKS, the democratic process. Stephen Harper should remember that His agenda must serve the people of Canada, and simply not wanting to talk about the tough parts is a cut-and-run attitude - certainly NOT the style of a truly transparent, ethical government!

Democracy is Broken Without a FREE Press writes this customer review about Harper, Stephen (Right Hon.). I commend the journalists who had the strength of character and conviction to walk out on PM Stephen Harper's "press conference" when he refused to answer questions from reporters not on "the list". This Prime Minister has made a mockery of government transparency. While he talks a fancy story about improved ethics and integrity in His government, his conservative track record speaks to the opposite. But for those press members feeling left out of the loop, they should not feel so bad. After all, even His own team members are often left in the dark while "king" Stephen rules the land.
