We grow hardy trees and shrubs in central Alberta. Retail and wholesale to acreage owners, garden centres, landscape contractors, and reclamation specialists. Most of our plants are grown in pots. You get all the roots, and so can plant almost any time during the growing season.

Currently 80 species of trees and shrubs in 140 different sizes. PROOF OF CANADIAN ORIGINS: I don't make such a claim. I can claim that by weight I'm likely 99.99% canadian. Example: That ponderosa pine seed weighs about 50 mg. The one I sold at the Farmers market last week was about 10 kg, the weight of about 200,000 seeds. Some plugs I've bought have had a "grown in USA" tag. A plug weighs about 30 grams. So that same 10 kg tree weighs about 333 times as much as the imported ingrediant.

Or Prepared From Imported Materials?
Many cultivars originated in Europe or in the U.S. as well as here in Canada. However, they have long established presence in Canada. Example: The ponderosa pine I grow, I bought as plugs from Boreal Horticultural services in Bonnyville Alberta, but their seed source is Black Hills, South Dakota. Some of my Scots pine started as seeds in the Ukraine. REASONS FOR IMPORTS: Lack of suppliers. If you can find me a Candian supplier of liner stock for Western White Pine, Whitebark pine, limber pine, swiss stone pine, please let me know.

I am not claiming certification for anything. However, I use no herbicides or insecticides in my work, but I do use conventional fertilizers.

EVERY SINGLE one of my products is irradiated. Trees don't grow in the dark. Sunlight is radiation.

Description Of Environmental Practices:
- I use recycled nursery containers for most of my production.
- I actively seek out and purchase used nursery containers.
- I feed the birds year round to build thim up to the point where I don't have to use insecticides during the growing season. It works.
- I put up with ground squirrels, doing nothing more than mowing the grass short so the hawks can find them in the tree yard.
- I leave 30+ acres in pasture so the deer will eat that instead of my trees.
- I have designed my irrigation system so that as my needs change I can move the pipes.
- I have completed a Farm Environmental Management plan.
- I have planted dogwood, sea buckthorn, lilac, chokecherry, green ash, poplar, pear, hawthorn and crabapple as shelterbelts to increase wildlife diversity.
- By leaving much of my land in pasture, my runoff is clear instead of muddy, and takes weeks instead of days after the spring thaw.
