Frenette in Moncton, N.B. writes this customer review about Hearth Store The At Lawsons.
Lawsons gave me the worst shopping experience of my life. We had a
stove that didn't work well,
and rather than help us we ended up with
our names in a collection agency and went to small claims court.
Lawsons sells and installs stoves and inserts for fireplaces. We went
to Lawsons to purchase a pellet insert which gave us a lot of problems
and we weren't satisfied with the product. We had an Osburn Hybrid-35
pellet insert installed in our house in December 2008. We had various
problems from the start and complained to Lawsons staff. The stove
was too loud, we had problems igniting the stove, we had to clean the
stove every time we wanted to start the stove, and there was a warning
code that kept shutting the stove off. Overall, we hated the stove
and wanted it removed from our house. We were prepared to pay a
penalty if necessary, but no longer wanted the stove in our house.
The store made an accounting error and never received our money.
However, we weren't trying to get a stove for free. We kept going
into the store to complain about teh product ant just wanted to be
satisfied and have a stove we would like and use. However, after nine
months of me and my husband complaining and going back to the store,
we informed Lawsons that our account was not paid yet. This came as a
surprise to them. Lawsons response was to send our names to a
collection agency and take us to small claims court. We were
satisfied with the courts decision. However, we are still mad that we
had to go through this experience when Lawsons could have easily
helped us in the beginning when we were not happy customers. No, I
would never recommend this store to anyone looking for a stove. My
best advice would be to listen to your customers. Don't tell them to
"give it a try". If someone doesn't like a product, chances are they
aren't going to change their mind, but rather get more frustrated when
you don't help.
