Overall a very expensive experience. I would have been better off
going to the dealership.

The following is an e-mail we sent after having our 1997 Jeep
detailed by Franz and his crew at Precision Detailing. Since our
first meeting with Franz and seeing the calibre of work he and his
employees provide, we have happily and confidently recommended my Dad
and our daughter take their brand new vehicles to Franz. My Dad
travelled from Abbotsford for the pleasure of doing business with
Precision Detailing and is delighted with the result.
As noted, we had our Jeep done in February. We have only the single
vehicle and it took an overnight stay for the full service however
Franz's wife was kind enough to drive out of her way to return me to
my home after I dropped the car and picked me up the next morning -
even after a significant snowfall.
Franz, his lovely wife Joanne and their employees are a rare find
today - quality, caring people who do quality work and go above and
beyond to service their clients.
To Our Family, Friends and Neighbours in the Nanaimo area,
We would like to share some pictures of our renewed Jeep taken today
- it is overcast. We don't usually promote businesses but we are
making an exception this time. Our 12 year old Jeep had a number of
scratches on the exterior paint and had never had the carpets or the
engine compartment cleaned professionally. We decided to treat her to
some special attention at a local detail shop. We were hopeful the
Jeep would look better however, never having used a detailer before we
did not know exactly what to expect. We dropped the Jeep at 8 a.m. on
Tuesday and picked her up on Wednesday morning. In a brief 24 hour
span, these professional detailers performed a small miracle.
They did 3 coats of cut polish to take out all of the scratches and
then applied a Polymer & Resin sealant. This will protect the paint
from UV rays and makes the water bead up on it. We will know when it
needs to be done again as the water will no longer bead. They treated
the carpets with some magical product that then helped them to suck up
all the dirt and grime leaving them looking like new. The interior
was cleaned and treated - including the dash and leather seats. They
did a remarkable job cleaning the engine compartment...it didn't look
this good when we purchased her from the Jeep dealership (with 50,000
kilometres of light experience). The paint on our wipers had faded
and chipped off and in places it was just bare metal. When I arrived
to pick up the Jeep I was surprised and appreciative to see both
wiper arms had been completely repainted and touch up paint had been
applied to the exterior mirror where a rock had chipped it. Put that
together with the overall shiny, clean and clean smelling Jeep...I
think "Wow" was the word that kept coming out of my mouth. Both
Krystal and I have gone out more than once just to look at her.
These folks are professional, courteous, prompt and really know what
they are doing. Frans and his team love cars - their attention to
detail and quality of work is testament to that. He really enjoys
watching people appreciate seeing their vehicles being returned to,
and in some cases, looking better than when it was new. In the course
of conversation I mentioned I was looking to buy new wheels and Frans
offered the name of a mobile wheel repair company that travels around
the Island. New wheels were priced at approximately $500 per. Alloy
Wheel Repair has quoted $125 to restore and reseal the Jeep wheels to
look brand new again. Frans has seen the finished product and was
happy to recommend the company.
The treatment our Jeep received was well worth the $299.00 (special
February price).

I would encourage anyone dealing with this company and especially the
owner Frans to get a writen quote before allowing work on your
vehicle. Both myself and friends have had huge added costs applied at
the end. Always with the message that "you are getting good value for
good services" which confuses the point that this company overcharges,
is not up front with costs and likes to generiously pad the final
total, often becoming 2 or 3 times more than was originally quoted
verbally.
