Tony C in Courtenay, B.C. writes this customer review about Labour Unlimited.
Every now and then, especially in today's economy, getting extra work
is part of survival for many Canadians like me, and I've had the
pleasure of finding work on demand with Labour Unlimited! Labour
Unlimited is a local office of a Canadian-based temporary employment
agency. In Courteny, the type of workers hired are mostly manual
(skilled and unskilled) labour. People looking for a quick job to do
and pocket a paycheck(at the end of the day) can register with Labour
Unlimited and then let them know when they are available for work.
Depending on the season, there may or may not be work for certain
skillsets. I worked as a temp labourer for this agency on numerous
occasions, and with great success. I started out as a general
labourer, but when job opportunities came up for more skills related
to wood working I qualified and was paid more. Right from the
beginning, I found the service to be very good for my needs. In
addition to getting work and being paid at the end of each day, I was
even driven to and from the job sites. They really go out of your way
to get you work and get to to the job and back (to the office).
Eventually, I worked for a landscaper who decided to hire me directly
(you can do this after 2 weeks of working through Labour Unlimited),
and that worked out well. The only problem I did find was that, for my
particular needs, I wanted to work on specific days, but from a
practical standpoint, if you go to a job and do well, you may be
called back for the next day. Generally, this is a really good thing,
but if that conflicts with your schedule, you may find yourself at the
bottom of the list when you do want to work again. In my case, I
worked every day I was called back, and my "temporary" labour was
actually full-time labour for several months. I absolutely recommend
Labour Unlimited to anyone looking for temporary work, but I
understand that these days, there may be fewer jobs available. I think
if more local home owners and businesses knew about the benefits of
hiring Labour Unlimited workers (the workers are covered by Workers
Comp), they may realize that the botom line price for these workers is
very competitive - without the strings attached with regular
employees. The staff is very friendly and professional.
