I was really impressed with Revoluzione when I first started shopping
around for motorcycle dealers.
They sent out newsletters, had lots of
unique promotions and generally seemed to have excellent customer
service. So I purchased a motorcycle from them. Even before I received
my new motorcycle I ordered some accessories (a touring bag). They
kept being vague on when it would arrive to the point that they
thought it wouldn't even come in that summer! So instead I bought it
from the US and it shipped within the week. Then I had an electronics
issue which they could seem to fix. The issue, while it didn't
compromise the way the bike ran, shut down the instrument panel;
meaning I couldn't tell what speed I was going or how many kms I had
driven. The service department said they would order me a new panel
suspecting that was the problem, over the winter so that I could get
it installed next spring (sounded good to me). When I came in to get
this work done (a 3 hrs trip one way from where I live) they said the
part hadn't come in! They had all winter to order it. This was not
the last time I would have a similar issue. I needed a new set of
tires so I booked ahead and gave advance notice that I would need a
specific tire available for my appointment. No problem. When I came in
for my service they didn't have the tire I requested and they had
underestimated how long my service would take. Again I am coming out
of town so it's imperative that I can get things done within a
reasonable time frame, and knowing this I book weeks in advance. My
final transaction with Revoluzione was another tire change. After
requesting a specific tire and showing the service department what I
wanted (a sport touring tire) they fitted a touring tire and charged
me for the sport touring tire. After I questioned that they had put
the right tire on my bike they said that I was mistaken and refused to
give me a refund.
With the repeated bad experiences I had, why did I go back? It was my
closest Ducati dealer and I had a prepaid maintenance plan with them.
Given a choice I would go to [competition] in Calgary.
