Wow! If you do even just an ankle deep search on the web for
information related to and/or involving this "doctor", you will
quickly find yourself in a pile of buzz from all sides of the fence!
It's unfortunate, but understandable, that some people who have
viewed the "information" put forward on the websites alleged to be
operated by this "doctor" are stimulated viscerally to the point of
(possibly actionable) name calling. That only adds fuel to the wrong
fire. As the good "doctor" has pointed out on more than one occasion,
he will prescribe legal action against those who "defame" him. In
fact, it would seem that his taste for legal remedy runs high enough
to even sue HIS OWN LAWYER! Yup, I admit to getting sidetracked in my
exploration of "all that is polevoy" by case files on record in the
Alameda Courts (Case # RG09429719). I wondered though, "How did I end
up in the US?". Apparently, this "doctor" is residing in Canada, but
from numerous sources on the web, it is suggested that he is in fact
American.
I could abandon charitably, and attribute the style and manner of
"reporting" on "his" websites to a (Fox TV-like) cultural bias, but to
my thinking, this case can be adequately explored by simply looking at
the "doctor's" own work. I got tired of musing through the many rants
and counter-rants related to this "figure" - "his" websites seem to
speak volumes to me.
To me, there seemed to be a consistent theme and pattern to the
presentations on these sites. While the cases sited, may in fact be
accurate (and regrettable isolated examples of failed alternative
therapies), there seems to be a strong bias against alterative
medicine. Period.
I was surprised that the manner of information "cherry-picking" and
repeatedly implied (that's what I read from the information)
relationship between alternative therapy and "quackery" was coming
from someone who actually held the title of "doctor". I did not get
any sort of objective or balanced feel from the information I found on
these sites. It does not surprise me in the least that some people,
could characterize this work as "hate".
In my view, this "doctor" is certainly not an advocate of alternative
medicine, and his suite of websites do seem like a carefully crafted
assault against alternative therapy. I certainly do not get any
personal sense of "healing" from the writings of this "doctor". But
that's just my take on the information I viewed on his sites.
I think it is worthwhile to check out his websites, and if enough
people feel strongly enough about it, a more balanced report about
this character should be compiled so that the terms "doctor", "quack",
and "alternative" are properly represented.
