The REALLY Made IN Canada Statement of Disclosure is what sets our local business directories far apart from any other! Our proprietary business questionaire is one of the many ways in which we are able to obtain and provide information about businesses and organizations to those interested in a much more indepth and objective format than is typically available in other directories and publications! If you have been relying on "Made In Canada" labels (whatever that means today), you may have been buying more imported goods than you know and missing out on a whole world of marvellous local REALLY Made IN Canada goods and services!
While our so-called leaders are busy straightening their new blue (maybe "Made in Canada") sweaters and spinning up the latest political definition of this broken designation, Canadians are demanding more than three words could ever tell!
We reveal what Canadians REALLY want to know!
We do provide our applicants some opportunity to express their offerings in a promotional tone (aka "marketing hype"), but our main emphasis is on the underlying spirit, structure, practices, and historic record of each listing from a DETAILED FACTUAL STANDPOINT.
ALL Canadian businesses and organizations are invited!
Our disclosure process is completely voluntary and INCLUSIVE! ALL businesses and organizations operating in Canada, are invited to participate. Applicants who truthfully submit FULLY COMPLETED questionaires (no skipping uncomfortable details) are, at our final discretion, entitled to a FREE Basic Listing in our various business directories. Placement in our directories will reflect the nature of applicants' ownership, hiring practices, offerings, and histories. While we try to include all qualified applicants, we do reserve the right to reject any application and to refuse service to anyone at any time.
We encourage and support LOCAL Canadian Economy!
As the underlying mandate of the REALLY Made IN Canada PROJECT is to facillitate a healthy return to a localized economy and to champion good examples of small Canadian enterprise, our disclosure process is designed to clearly flesh out pertinent details essential in helping consumers make better and more effective spending choices!
We ask the TOUGH questions about:
Canadian Ownership
Canadian Labour
Origins of Products/Components
Health & Safety
Environmental Practices
Social Conscience
Company History
REALLY Made IN Canada WORKS where "Made in Canada" FAILS!
If you're unclear or confused about "today's legal definition" for "Made in Canada", you are NOT ALONE. It seems that too many politicians, driven by big business interests, are always playing "catch up" to the issues and needs of Canadians. Whatever changes they do (eventually) implement, are usually too little and TOO LATE! Now that so many local component manufacturers have shut down because of importers exploiting prior weak "Made in Canada" standards, small LOCAL Canadian product makers may not even qualify for current "Made in Canada" designation because of the tighter regulations!
Some businesses may elect to PASS on our disclosure process!
Understandably, some enterprises may choose to NOT participate in our project. As our disclosure process is designed to be revealing, and our definitions are less vague than those currently enjoyed by some, not all businesses and organizations may feel flattered by our magnifying glass - and we're ok with that!
Moms and Pops are queens and kings in our directories!
It's no accident that the shining stars in our directories are typically smaller local businesses which have, until now, been mostly overshadowed by "big box" stores and big ad budget transnational conglomerates.
Each week, it is our pleasure and privilege, to receive Statements of Disclosure from small, medium, and large businesses all across Canada. We enjoy working directly with applicants so they fully benefit from our diverse skills and resources, and to ensure that Canadians reviewing the published details will be adequately informed. This personal, interactive process is unique to each enterprise!
